AMAK management joined the presentation on child car seats (CRS) with the FIA support

04 June 2018 - EVENTS

On 17-28 May, 2018 an event dedicated to the child car seats (CRS) was held with the organization of the Automobile Club of Moldova and participation of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) member clubs – BKA Belarus, LAMB Latvia, LAS Lithuania, ACR Romania, AMAK, National Automobile Club of Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of the Moldovan Government. Vusal Rajabli, the president of AMAK represented Azerbaijan in this event. During the event, the participants discussed the level of awareness of legislation in this field and importance of using child car seats in their countries, as well as local projects on this topic and shared their experiences.

It is important to highlight that one of priorities that AMAK plan to focus on for 2018 is to implement a similar project in Azerbaijan with the goal of preventing children’s injuries during road crashes. Thus, AMAK have already conducted surveys on child car seats among parents in October 2018 to find out the knowledge and perception of parents on child car seats and the Club plan to launch a big-scale project “Child Safety in Cars” with the support of FIA Foundation (FIAF). Within the framework of this project, a nationwide awareness campaign on child safety and car seats is planning to be held among road users, driving parents in particular. In addition, AMAK also envisage the adoption of law requiring the installation of child car seats in the back seats in 2019.
